My Story

With a professional background in health and social care and a strong foundation in academic research, I bring a unique blend of empathy, insight, and lived experience to my creative work. I’ve always been drawn to stories that reflect the heart of Scottish identity, its history, culture, poetry, and its people.

Born and raised in Ayrshire, I’ve lived surrounded by the landscapes and legacy of Robert Burns. His presence, woven into the very fabric of the region, sparked a fascination in early adulthood that grew into a lifelong study. I’ve spent countless hours researching Burns’s life, his works, and his cultural impact, not simply as a scholar, but as someone who has walked the same paths he once did.

This series is part of that journey; a poetic, visual, and historical exploration born from passion and personal connection. Alongside writing, I’m an avid photographer and musician, and these creative expressions shape the tone and texture of my storytelling. My work is driven by a love for Scottish heritage, language, and folklore, and a desire to explore how the past continues to echo in the present.
